A preliminary, WGS, draft assembly of Caenorhabditis sp. 4 (PB2801) is available for download on the Washington University’s Genome Sequence Center ftp site and for searching on their BLAST server. The coverage is ~9x in plasmids and fosmid ends. Primer-directed, sequence improvement of the draft assembly is in progress.

New release of WormBase, WS169
WormBase has been updated to the WS169 release of the database. New features in this release include incorporation of nBrowse [read more…], an interactive interaction network browser. Links to nBrowse are displayed on the Gene Summary. In addition, new images on the Gene Summary and Expression Pattern pages provide a quick overviews of curated expression patterns for many genes. The next release of WormBase, WS170, will be our 8th “frozen” referential release.
December additions to WormBook
WormBook has expanded its coverage of C. briggsae with the addition of “Caenorhabditis briggsae methods” to WormMethods. Additionally, WormBook’s new Biochemistry section was launched with “Carbohydrates and glycosylation“.
