The Worm Lab Project @ The WBG

Check out the The Worm Lab Project at the Worm Breeder’s Gazette that seeks to capture the rich history and scientific spirit of the C. elegans research community by publishing brief interviews with lab heads and principal investigators.

We invite all PIs/lab heads of laboratories registered with the CGC to take the Worm Lab Project interview! We will publish submissions on a rolling basis.

This issue highlights genome editing and includes 4 articles describing improvements in CRISPR/Cas9 technology, web resources useful for those experiments, and links to published papers in the field. The issue also includes descriptions of other useful tools for the worm community, a caution about the potential effects of bacto-peptone on worm behavior, and several other research summaries. There are also worm humor articles, worm art, and new lab announcements.

The deadline for submissions to the next issue of The Worm Breeder’s Gazette is Monday, September 15, with publication following about a week later. While we will accept all articles, we would like to emphasize CRISPR methodology in this issue. So, if you have developed or improved any techniques you think would be useful to the community, please take the time to write up your protocol and submit it at http://www.wormbook.org/wbg/.

In addition to articles summarizing research, we also welcome announcements (particularly for new labs), editorials, humor, and artwork.

Worm Breeder's Gazette submission deadline

Dear Worm Researchers,

The deadline for submissions for the next issue of The Worm Breeder’s Gazette is Monday, March 10. The date is somewhat flexible, so if you need an extra day or two, please email me.

In addition to articles summarizing research results, we also welcome announcements, editorials, and artwork. We would also like to include articles describing the use of nematodes in teaching. In short, we will include anything that would be of interest to researchers or teachers of nematode biology.

Articles should be a single page in length and should be submitted through our web site: http://www.wormbook.org/wbg/. You should be able to register on the Gazette site, but it may take as much as a day before you receive email confirmation. If you have trouble registering, or don’t want to fool with it, please send your article to me and I will upload it for you.
Thank you for your interest in The Worm Breeder’s Gazette.

Sincerely,

Jane
