WormBase is pleased to introduce the WormBaseWiki, a site to share announcements about meetings, protocols, job opportunites, or anything pertinent to working with C. elegans. The WormBaseWiki will also contain sections on using the site, FAQs, and data mining tutorials. You must be a registered user in order to contribute. We are also looking for individuals to patrol the content of the Wiki periodically. If you would like to volunteer to monitor individual sections of the Wiki, please contact Todd Harris (harris@cshl.edu).
Preliminary C. remanei genome browser now available
A browsable view of the C. remanei genome is now
available. Analyses include a variety of gene model predictions, protein and EST alignments, and
nucleotide-level alignments to C. elegans and C. briggsae. These data are based on a preliminary assembly of
the genome; users are urged to treat this data in accord with its pre-release status.
Variations now available through WormMart
Variations, including alleles and SNPs, are now available for downloading en masse via the WormMart.
First published reference of C. elegans
The first published
reference to C. elegans — the paper that describes C. elegans as
a new species — is now available at WormBase [PDF]. This translation
and an accompanying foreword [PDF, DOC] have been
kindly provided by Marie-Anne Felix.
New Microarray Data Display
A new Microarray Results page has
been developed to display the expanding microarray data in
WormBase. Microarray data can also be viewed in the context of the Gene Summary within the
Function section.
