Overview of WormBase, Sept 2020

If you’d like to get an overview of WormBase datatypes, tools, the Author First Pass form and learn about Micropublication Biology, please take a look at the slides from a talk given by Chris Grove, a WormBase curator. This was presented at the Boston area worm meeting on Sept 23rd, 2020.

Service status update: sequence related widgets restored

Over the weekend the database that houses sequences at WormBase became unavailable. Any features that require sequence (such as the location or sequence widgets) started to fail. Apologies for the inconvenience. We’ve already put a few changes in place to prevent a repeat of this event.

Genome assemblies in WormBase and on the FTP site

For information on the different genome assemblies for C. elegans take a look at the “Genome Assemblies” widget on: https://wormbase.org/species/c_elegans#032–10

If you are looking for genome assemblies on our FTP site, please note that they are organized as follows: ftp://ftp.wormbase.org/pub/wormbase/species/c_elegans/assemblies/ covers the C. elegans assemblies for our legacy versions of the database from release WS100 to release WS260.

For the more recent and future files (covering releases WS237 to WS268), please see this page: ftp://ftp.wormbase.org/pub/wormbase/species/c_elegans/PRJNA13758/assemblies/
