The modENCODE Data Coordinating Center seeks input from the C. elegans and Drosophila research communities on which transcription factors to select for analysis in modENCODE projects. Availability of suitable antibodies as well as community priorities are important factors in deciding which transcription factors will be mapped first. New release of WormBase: WS180
WormBase has been updated to the WS180 release of the database. This release will become the 9th frozen referential release of WormBase. Details about availability of the WS180 frozen site and raw data files will be posted shortly.
Bigger prize for isolation of C. elegans sister species
The prize for the isolation of a sister species to C. elegans has been increassed to $5000! A guide to the contest and isolation of the species has been prepared by Jim Thomas, Marie-Anne Felix, Scott Baird, Karin Kiontke, Michael Ailion, and David Fitch. Prize money is handled by Paul Sternberg ([email protected]); contributions to increase the prize are welcome.
