Check out SPELL for microarray, tiling array and RNA seq data

SPELL (Serial Pattern of Expression Levels Locator) is a query-driven search engine for microarray, RNAseq and tiling array data. Given a small set of query genes, SPELL can identify which datasets are most informative for these genes, then within these datasets, additional genes are identified with expression profiles most similar to the query set.  SPELL contains more than 5000 experiments from over 300 plus datasets.

You can also download datasets by following the ‘Dataset Listing‘ link from the side menu bar on the SPELL home page.

WormBase Workshop presentation slides at IWM 2017 available

WormBase hosted a workshop at the recently concluded International Worm Meeting at UCLA, which included presentations on community curation, Micropublications and the demonstration of tools for simple queries, data mining and data visualization. The slides for these presentations are available here.  The slides are also available from the WormBase FTP site.

Come visit us at the IWM 2017!

WormBase has a number of activities planned at the IWM 2017 at UCLA. A plenary talk will give an overview about the exciting things that have been implemented or planned for WormBase.  Come to the WormBase workshop (Thursday, June 22, 1.00pm-2.30pm, Northwest Auditorium) to learn about data mining tools in WormBase, and how to contribute your data.  Come to the Micropublication booth (#102) to learn how to micropublish your unpublished data! WormBase staff will be present at the WormBase booth (#103) to answer any questions and to assist you with any queries you need help with.  We look forward to hearing your suggestions, comments and feedback! See you soon!

Call for gene expression data

Are you presenting gene expression data at the upcoming IWM? Do you have gene expression data you never published and you always wanted to? Publish them now! Fill out this form on WormBase and get credit for your work. It’s fast and easy. We will send your work out for review and if approved it will get a DOI and published right away so you can get cited! Visit www.micropublicationbiology.org to see some Micropublication examples. Submissions received before May 20th will have a chance to be featured in the Micropublication Booklet that will be distributed at Micropublication: biology, Knudra, Nemametrix, and WormBase booths at the IWM in June!”
